How to keep your CGSS certification (recertification 2026)

How CGSS recertification works: membership, continuing education and where to find the current rules and fees.

Like other ACAMS certifications, CGSS is maintained through active ACAMS membership and continuing education over a recertification cycle. ACAMS publishes the exact cycle length, credit requirements and fees in the CGSS candidate handbook and on acams.org; check them there, as they can change.

What to expect

  • A multi-year recertification cycle (ACAMS uses a three-year cycle for CAMS).
  • A minimum number of continuing education credits, part of them from ACAMS training.
  • A recertification fee, with lower early-bird pricing.
  • Active ACAMS membership throughout.

Good habits

  • Collect credits steadily: ACAMS sanctions webinars, conferences, courses, and other relevant training.
  • Keep certificates of attendance in one folder.
  • Put the deadline in your calendar a year ahead.

Stay current between cycles

Sanctions change fast: new programmes, designations, guidance and enforcement. Our news page summarises the major changes, and our CGSS practice questions are reviewed monthly.
