Updated for the new CAMS exam (CAMS7)

ACAMS changed the CAMS exam in July 2025. It now has four domains: risks and methods of financial crime (30%), frameworks and regulation (20%), building a compliance programme (30%) and a new domain on tools and technologies (20%). Our questions and domain scores follow the new outline, including 40 questions on monitoring, screening, investigations, data and AI. Many older prep materials still follow the old exam.

About the CAMS exam

CAMS tests whether you can apply international AML/CFT standards: money laundering methods, FATF Recommendations, US and EU rules, building a compliance programme and running investigations. Questions are scenario-heavy and lean on precise regulatory detail.

Format: 120 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions (knowledge and scenario based), 3.5 hours, pass mark 75, Pearson VUE test centre or online proctoring. Check the current ACAMS candidate handbook before you book, as details change.

Why not just ask a free AI chatbot?

Chatbots are good for explaining a concept. They are a poor way to find out whether you would pass the CAMS exam.

Questions that match the exam

Scenario questions, "what should you do FIRST" questions and select-two/select-three questions in the style of the real exam, spread across the domains by their exam weights. A chatbot writes easy recall questions and never tells you which part of the syllabus you skipped.

Is this the official ACAMS practice exam?

No. Our questions are written independently from public sources such as the FATF Recommendations, US Bank Secrecy Act rules, EU directives and Wolfsberg guidance. We are not affiliated with ACAMS.

How close are the questions to the real exam?

They follow the same four domains and a similar scenario style and difficulty. We do not use leaked or recalled exam content, so treat your score as a readiness signal, not a forecast.

How long do I keep access?

A single-certification pass runs for 90 days from purchase. All Access runs for 180 days and covers every certification on the site.
