According to ACFCS, CFCS holders recertify every three years.
| Cycle | Every 3 years |
| Credits | 60 continuing education credits |
| Membership | Active ACFCS membership required |
| Fee | about US$150 (late about US$200) |
| Late applications | Accepted up to three months after the deadline |
| Extensions | 12-month grace period for job loss, illness or active-duty deployment |
Missing the deadline or letting membership lapse can lead to denial, so collect credits steadily and keep records of each training. Check acfcs.org for current fees.
